Messer Americas Names John Tomasello new Chief Human Resources Officer

Tomasello brings a distinguished track record of human capital management that spans more than 20 years.

Bridgewater, N.J., U.S., May 28, 2024 – Messer, the largest privately held industrial gases company in the world, today announced that John Tomasello has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Messer Americas. John is responsible for evolving all aspects of the company’s human resources strategy and operations including talent management, recruitment, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, compensation and benefits.

Tomasello has led teams across Europe, Asia and the Americas, and possesses more than 20 years of HR experience leading human resources teams, defining talent and culture strategy, advancing organizational design, and enhancing total rewards programs and overall HR operations. He has held senior human resources roles at Leo Pharma, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and Baxter International. Most recently he served as the senior vice president and CHRO of Stemline Therapeutics.

Tomasello earned a M.S. in human resources and a B.S. in business from Rutgers University. He also completed a Modern CHRO Role Program from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University in 2022.
